Downtown Providence removed the main highway running through its landscape. The land left there provides insight into the possibilities (or negative impact) for cities willing to push cars out of our daily lives.
I wonder what they did with all the pieces of that highway. Perhaps we should start a reclaimed highway program for other cities who would like to recycle the pieces. The big question for Providence is what is the best use of that space and will it solve problems or create them.
The question for the rest of us is - Is it possible to get urban dwellers across America to get on board?
